Trust & Transparency

Editorial Policy

Our legal guides are designed to orient readers, not replace advice from a qualified attorney.

Primary-source research

We prioritize statutes, courts, government agencies, official forms, and state bar resources. Each substantive guide identifies its principal sources so readers can verify current requirements.

Plain-language editing

Editors organize official material into a practical overview while preserving important qualifications, jurisdictional differences, and deadlines. We do not copy or lightly rewrite third-party articles.

Authorship and legal review

Content prepared by our editorial team is labeled as such. We do not claim that an article has been reviewed by a lawyer unless a named, appropriately licensed reviewer has actually completed that review.

Updates

Every guide displays a review date. We review high-risk and frequently changing subjects more often and update or remove material when an authoritative source changes.

Commercial independence

Advertising, paid profiles, and verification products do not control article conclusions. Sponsored or paid placements will be disclosed and will not be described as objective rankings.
